AUKUS is a loss of
Australian Sovereignty but the rot started with the US Bases such as Pine Gap
and came to a head with Whitlam’s Sacking on 11-11-1975. Christopher Boyce was
working in the CIA Base that received all the information from Pine Gap in the
United States including witnessing the destabilisation campaign and eventual Sacking
of Australia Prime Minister Gough Whitlam. Boyce says of Australians that ‘We
don't stand up for our own independence.’ He has a point.
The line has been
drawn on AUKUS and involving us in the US Policy of Containment of China with
Nuclear Submarines by former Prime Minister Paul Keating at the Nation Press
Club last month. A range of Australians with a diversity of political opinions
agree with what he said and I’m one of them. I thoroughly enjoyed him tearing the
Murdoch and Costello Toadies, that I won’t call them journalists.
