Michael West,'The world is getting smaller and more troubled by the
day and these troubles and conflicts are spilling over to conflicts in our
country in Australia throughout society. Even as parliament's going to be
called back early to legislate speech laws on Monday arising from global
conflicts essentially and international unrest. international law is right in
focus with IR with the US looking like it's just about to um intervene in Iran
again and we've just seen the invasion of Venezuela a few days ago. So tonight we've
got a very special a very special guest, Professor Emily Crawford from theUniversity
of Sydney Law School. It's great to have Emily on board for some technical
legal assistance in looking at these things and wondering is Australia acting
legally or not. And of course we've got Rex Patrick, the transparency warrior,
the veteran legend of FOIs. Um, and Rex, of course, used to work as a serviceman
in the Australian Defense Forces in a submarine or in various submarines back
in the Colin class days and then became a senator for South Australia and
served many years in parliament....'
