What I do want to highlight though, is that we in Australia are perfectly
placed to warn Canadians about the dangers of investing in an LNG export
industry. We went down this path years ago, and we still got shafted with
higher energy prices and bugger-all royalties. But doing this in 2025, in the
midst of a climate crisis, is just criminal.
And the fact that our very own Woodside Energy is involved in Ksi Lisims makes that point
even clearer. So of course (spoiler alert) we had to have an Aussie/Woodside
cameo.
Warning Canadians is only part of this HGA's objective, however: we also made
it to support the Gitxsan and Gitanyow, whose territories (Lax'Yip) are in the
pathway of the proposed PRGT pipeline that would feed fracked gas to Ksi
Lisims.
First Nation peoples are often on the frontlines of the fight to protect clean
land, air and water from extractivist industries. So supporting them isn't only
important from a justice perspective, but also from a climate and environmental
one.
And believe me, the Gitxsan and Gitanyow are going to be the biggest obstacle
to building the PRGT pipeline. Such is their staunchness and determination to
protect the Lax'Yip - one of the few parts of the world where you can still
drink from clean rivers and see wild salmon.
It was truly inspiring to witness this when we where invited to attend the
Peace and Unity summit on the Lax'Yip in August. (Here's my post about that trip, in case you
missed it)So yeah... this HGA is our way of lending them a hand, by rainsing
awarenss about this dodgy, MAGA-billionaire-owned project, in Canada. Where
most people know nothing about it.
I spupport Juice Media on Pateron, if you can do
that too, great. If you can't do that please share.
