Today the US and Israel launched strikes on Iran, setting off a series of events that are still unfolding as we speak. One such attack by the Israeli and US governments killed over 80 students reportedly at a girl school. Iran's retaliation included attacks on US bases in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and and so forth. Debris has endangered civilians in these countries and now Israeli officials are claiming that they say that the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is dead. History, as we see, is being written and it's not yet clear who's going to be left holding the pen. We will be live for the next hour. Please feel free to share questions with us wherever you happen to be watching. We'll try to get to as many as we can. Later, I will be joined by Nagar Mortazawi and Tria Parsi. But first, I will be joined by my colleagues Mehdi Hasan and Swin Subub saying, [Question to Mehdi Hasan] My how are you reacting to things? I know things are changing by the second, but when you first saw the strike and now, what are you thinking about?" 

Mehdi Hasan: Yeah, I saw the strikes last night. I was in a hotel room in Atlanta heading here to Texas for an event and I was uhI wasn't sure what it was, right, Prem? Because a lot of the reporting, including from Swin, who's going to give us his take in a moment, was is this going to be a smaller strike first and then they do a big strike later. Is this Trump's way of bringing the quote unquote regime to the table? Even though they were in the middle of negotiations, even though hours before these strikes, the Omani foreign minister, the Omanis, for those of you who don't know, don't tend to talk very much in public. The foreign minister of Oman went on American TV and said, "You know what? The Iranians have pretty much agreed to everything the Americans want. They've gone beyond what Barack Obama got from the Iran deal." And yet, they still attacked, which everyone should keep in mind when they hear American officials saying this was about the nuclear program. A complete load of BULLSHIT! This is a huge attack. Trump called it a massive wave of attacks last night.And Tom Cotton, Senator Tom Cotton, the very hawkish Republican chair of the Intel Committee has said today, "This is an attack that won't end in days. It's going to last weeks." So, we are looking at a major attack. I've always worried that a war with Iran would make the war with Iraq look like a walk in the park. I hope I'm proven wrong. Something you said, Prem, stuck out to me, which is, you know, history's being written, but we don't know how it's going to be written. The problem we have, and I would urge all Zateo subscribers to keep this in mind who are watching right now, is the media are going to tell you all. sorts of things about who's up, who's down, who's won, who's lost. It's meaningless. This is the first few hours of a major, major war. Remember what happened after Iraq? Remember George Bush standing on a ship saying, "Mission aAccomplished." Remember the people who mocked some of us saying, "See, it all worked out amazingly. We took over the country. We got Saddam….Iraq was the disaster it was." Same with Afghanistan. Same with Libya. This early basking of triumph doesn't always last. Let's see what happens with American soldiers. Trump has talked about American soldiers losing their lives possibly.…..’

Albo said Australia "stood with the brave people of Iran in their struggle against oppression".

"We support the United States acting to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and to prevent Iran continuing to threaten international peace and security," …

"It has long been recognised that Iran's nuclear program is a threat to global peace and security.

"The international community has been clear that the Iranian regime can never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon."

US veterans have a far higher rate of suicide than other members of the society. More US soldiers werekilled by suicide in Vietnam than killed by the war itself. This war is in no one's interest but a wafer thin section of the billionaire tax haven Epstein class. The idea being banded about by client journalists is that somehow Iran would target Europe with a nuclear weapon. Iran has shown no indication of anything of the sort. However, what we do know is that Israel has been developing nuclear weapons for a very long time. US President John F. Kennedy said that the inspection of Israeli nuclear facilities in Dimona was a necessity. That didn't happen and JFK was killed the very same year he suggested the idea. However, what does exist within military doctrine for the Israelis is something called the Samson option, it is the use of nuclear weaponsagainst any state anywhere at any point. It seems that recently Israel may have carried out new nuclear tests. If anybody is crazy enough to drop nuclear weapons, it would be Benjamin Netanyahu....'

Monarchy In TURMOIL As Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor ARRESTED by Owen Jones

Click on Owen Jones 'Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, Duke of York, the younger brother of King Charles III, and the favorite son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, and his home in Norfolk has been raided by the British police. The British monarchy is in its biggest crisis since the abdication of King Edward VII in 1936.To recap, the former prince was stripped of his royal title last year because of his long-standing close friendship with the late American paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who allegedly died from suicide in 2019 while in prison awaiting trial. That centered on accusations against him of sexual assault against Virginia Giuffre, who died of suicide nearly a year ago. Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied those allegations. A settlement had been agreed back in 2022 in which Mount Batin Windsor reportedly paid Giuffre somewhere between 10 and 12 million. It was reported last week that the late Queen paid up to 7 million towards that settlement with the estate of the late Prince Philip paying up to3 million and 1.5 million being paid by the then Prince Charles now the king of the country with other royals contributing too. The prime minister, Anthony Albanese, defended Herzog’s visit and called on people to “turn the temperature down”. He told parliament that violent footage of Monday’s protest was “devastating”.

“Many people who saw the footage, particularly of the people who were praying and then action was taken, will want to know all of the circumstances around that. I will allow the police to do their job.”…..

I was there at the Gadigal/Sydney Anti-Herzog Rally on Monday 9-2-2026, and I breathed in the Capsicum Spray. Journalist Michael West said of this historical landmark in Australian Politics, 'This is Chris Minns telling people not to believe the videos that…of his police bashing people up, including an elderly woman whose spine they broke in four places. And how many people did they hospitalise?' He quoted George Orwell from 1984, here is the full quote from me, and I remember the first time I read it at in 1974 at Naarm/Melbourne's Brunswick Boys Technical School

I've seen the ALP do some pretty bad things, over the years going back to Bob Hawke. But it' became the party from George Orwell's 1984 on 9-2-2026. And my ALP Blue Mountains  MP,Trish Doyle is reading off the script from Minns. I've lost all respect for her after seeing her waffle on about 'social cohesion' on Blue Mountains Political Forum on Facebook. And I'm saying this as someone who had a lot of respect for her over the years, including being on many NSW Teacher Federation delegations to her office on behalf of my fellow teachers, including our successful salary campaign and public education.

The historical significance of Minns's Police Riot has been compared to the NSW Liberal Party's Premier Robert 'Run The Bastards Over' Askin, with US president Lyndon Baines Johnson's visit to Sydney in 1966. However, Askin nor any of the other Liberal or National Party state premiers of that era never attacked their citizens en masse with the police against the massive demonstrations opposed to the Vietnam War. The various state premiers were violent during the 1971 Apartheid Selected South African Rugby Springbok Tour against Anti-Apartheid activists. Although these were big protests, they were not the massive size of the Anti-Vietnam Moratorium Marches.

It's also been compared to Queensland National Party Premier Joh Bjelke-Petersen's ban on Street marches in Brisbane in 1977. I was at one of those demos in 1977, but the Queensland Police did not do the widespread violence and bashings that we witnessed on Monday Night in Gadigal/Sydney. Mossad Minns wanted a Square Up with us over the success of the Harbour Bridge March last year, and he let the Cops of the leash to do it with their Kettling, the tactic of making cordon around people for hours, Mass charges of Police throwing people to the ground, Riding Horses into people, Bashing and Capsicum Spraying En Masse, all against NSW Citizens who don't approve of Israel’s Genocide in Gaza of at least 70,000 Palestinians, Over twenty thousand of them children. For what? To appease Herzog, a major player in this Genocide and a man who should face charges in the ICC for his role in it. Minns, the Police Minister and Police Commissioner, must be sacked for the 9-2-26 Sydney Police Riot.'
