To be fair, a loss for both aggressors means different things. Israel wants chaos in a state of permanent war, which means achieving a greater Israel to aggressively expand and conquer more land to colonize. Not a conspiracy theory. That's been the stated intent and aspiration not just of Israeli ministers that even mainstream media outlets call extremists like Bezalel Smotrich but the Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu. But the US already suffered strategic defeat in Iraq in Libya and particularly Afghanistan where it lost the war in the classic sense.
Its military opponent the Taliban took control of the whole country indeed ended up stronger than it did when the war began. Let's just go through why they're losing the war with Iran point by point. So by assassinating the Supreme Leader, it's clear the US in particular believed that this was a regime decapitation, that the whole system would collapse like a pack of cards. There would be defections by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and then some sort of coup. But no cracks were appearing in the regime at all. In fact, it's the opposite. The regime has rallied.'
